Words often get in the way

of true meaning

What is most profound and significant

is communicated in the unspoken.

When you love someone,

you look into the eyes, searching.

When you help someone,

you hold the eyes, sensing.

When you fight someone,

you do the same, and search the soul.

(in “Sword of No Blade”, of Joan Baxter)
